Royal Academy of Engineering
Event branding and design for this prestigious UK engineering body
Primarily supporting the Academy in delivering a number of high profile national and global events, Fluid Design Studio has designed the event branding, set graphics, exhibition graphics and printed collateral for the Annual Awards Dinner which brings together the brightest talent in the UK engineering industry. Landmark venues have included The Royal Opera House and the iconic Battersea Power Station. These awards dinners have led the events industry in utilising recyclable, modular exhibition displays. These are constructed of 100% recyclable cardboard, so can be quickly and easily disposed of after an event with the reassurance of the displays creating no landfill waste.
We have worked with the Academy on a number of other projects including the inaugural Global Grand Challenges Summit in London. Organised by the Royal Academy of Engineering in partnership with the national engineering academies of the US and China, the event sought to share ideas among 450 of the world’s leading engineers, artists, scientists, economists, politicians, industry leaders and designers to address the planet’s most pressing challenges through an inter-disciplinary, international collaborative approach. Plenary addresses were made by Bill Gates, Dr Craig Venter and will.i.am. Fluid Design Studio designed the event identity/logo and branding, which then followed through into a huge range of event graphics including recyclable displays, banners, a lanyard booklet, wayfinding signage, programme, guest list and much, much more.
Other recent events have included the design of supporting material for the Lloyd’s Register Foundation lectures at the Academy and a fun lecture based around the science of taste in food and drink.
